The JDRF Mumbai Ball

When not planning weddings, Samantha is also a fundraiser at leading Type1 Diabetes research charity, JDRF.

Here are some photos taken from the Mumbai Ball organised by local parents of children with type 1 diabetes and Samantha to raise funds for JDRF in association with the Carten100 bike ride, who this year are donating their proceeds to the charity.

The Bollywood inspired event consisted of a three course indian meal, a live auction and a silent auction. Items auctioned at the ball included a two night stay and tuition at the luxurious Gleneagles Hotel Scotland, and the un-washed rugby shorts worn by Welsh Rugby player Adam Jones during the 2012 grandslam decider Wales vs. France signed by the team, amongst other exceptional lots. There were also hundreds of pounds worth of prizes given away in the prize drawer including spa treats, afternoon teas, and luxury gift vouchers, and a magnum of champagne donated for a good old game of heads and tails.

The Mumbai Ball was held at the Coal Exchange in Cardiff and featured event styling and dressing by the exceptional Perfect Functions of Newport, with music provided by Desi Beats and a local Dohl drumming duo.

Exact figures are still being counted, but it is believed that the night raised a total of almost £10,000 for JDRF.

Gift Aid donation enveloped were designed and produced by Samantha and placed on every seat for guests to make their donations to the prize draw.

Stage decorations provided by Asian event specialists, Perfect Functions.

Exceptional service from the staff and caterers ensured the smooth running of a very successful event.

Hosted at Cardiff’s beautiful, historic Coal Exchange building…
