Muncelle & Jonathan – English Country Cottage

Dunn---001

Muncelle and Jonathan were married on Saturday 25th June in Calverton, Stony Stratford.

The wedding ceremony took place in the village church, just a few minutes walk from the bride and groom’s home where they hosted their afternoon reception in a large PapaKåta! sperry tent set out on the lawn.

The transition between tent and garden was seemsless, as guests enjoyed a gorgeous view out over the valley, and their country garden flower beds and roses bushes slipped gently in at the marquee’s edge.

Flowers adorened the dinner tables, bloomed out over oak barrels and hung from lanterns in the trees courtesy of Electric Daisy Flower Farm, who also supplied the gorgeous blush bouquets.

Dinner was a grand buffet of American vs English cuisine – celebrating Muncelle’s Southern American routes and Jonathan’s English grounding. Guests dined on an assortment of delicious canapes before tucking in to fresh sea food, salads and roasted meats. The food was made fresh in the cottage’s kitchen by local chefs Roger and John at The Fox and Hounds Whittlebury.

For dessert, a delicious three tiered cake by Sweetness & Delight Wedding Cakes caught everyone’s eye as the centrepiece on the dance floor!

Music flowed in abundance starting with the breathtaking sounds of the Polymnia Choir in church, followed by Ariella String Quartet, Trio & Duoplaying a well selected assortment of classic and popular music during the drinks reception. In the evening, guests danced the night away to live jazz band Down for the Count.

Guests travelled from Florida US and Yorkshire England to join the happy couple in a day which was simply divine.

Oh So Perfect worked with Jonathan and Muncelle for a total period of 9 months to fully plan, design and coordinate the full running of this gorgeous wedding, and it truly was a pleasure.

A huge thank you to Sarah Gawler Photography for providing us with these gorgeous photographs which so perfectly capture the details of the day.

Sarah and Matthew – Oxford College Wedding

oh so perfect wedding planning coordination oxford Sarah and Matt were married on Saturday 6th August 2016, in a ceremony at The Randolph Hotel, followed by a reception at Regents Park College, in Oxford.
oh so perfect wedding planning coordination oxford oh so perfect wedding planning coordination oxford oh so perfect wedding planning coordination oxford  Sarah and Matt treated guests all day long to good food, good drink and good fun.

Being an expert in wine, the bride ensured guests were spoiled with champagne to drink with their wedding cake canapés, followed by four different pairing of wine carefully chosen to match the dinner served.

Huge pile of donuts to be devoured.

The college dining hall was decorated in elegant cut glassware and flower arrangements with touches of blush and gold, to compliment the wall paintings of old Oxford masters.

Andy & Nikki in the Garden

Congratulations to beautiful couple Andy and Nikki who were married this weekend! We were lucky enough to keep the wet weather at bay on Saturday afternoon, long enough to enjoy a glorious outdoor wedding ceremony underneath a huge oak tree, stood out on the pretty corner patio of the garden, at the bride’s family home in Farnham Common.
The wedding was a quaint affair, sweet and informal, with guests making themselves well and truly at home in Nikki’s father’s house, and friends chipping in and lending hands to the kitchen and cupcake stands, all contributing to a family-like vibe which resonated throughout the celebration.

A harpist played the bride in to the ceremony, and the rings were delivered with the help of Molly the Jack Russel, who behaved just beautifully on cue from the groom!

Andy and Nikki’s ceremony was an absolute joy to write , and a pleasure to perform. The script held a heavy responsibility not just in supporting the couple’s commitment to eachother, but to their earth-loving lifestyle, and dedication to the environment too.

Spirituality was in abundance, with a quote by Ghandi, and a beautiful Ohso blessing delivered by a friend, and the vows were scripted with Buddhist teachings, and spoken in unison by the bride and groom.
What was even more unique, were the wedding rings Nikki and Andy had chosen to wear to symbolise their marriage. Not like traditional wedding rings, these rings were made of wood, sourced from an area of the world dear to their hearts, and a central band of crushed shells and sand which represent their personal values, and our human significance, within the greater story of our planet.

Their ceremony was truly beautiful, and the bond between this couple, and their dedication to what they believe in is simply admirable. It was an honour to help them celebrate their day…

Mahsa and Mamad at Syon Park

Last weekend I had the absolute honour of officiating the marriage of Mahsa and Mamad at South West London’s Samantha Kelsie Wedding Celebrant at Syon Park Londongorgeous venue Syon House and Park.

Mahsa and Mamad originate from Iran, and already officiated their marriage in a traditional Iranian ceremony with their families back at the end of last year. However, the pair have lived and worked in central London for over 10 years now, and so this weekend, following a quick registrar ceremony in the morning, this beautiful couple underwent a third ceremony in the glorious Great Hall of the house, with myself as their celebrant.

Although many of the guests had travelled from Iran, Austria, Canada, the US (and some even made their way out of central London on a Saturday!!), Mahsa and Mamad wanted this ceremony to be ‘typically British’ in tradition, so together we planned and wrote a simple script which incorporated a declaration of intent, traditional C of E wedding vows, and an exchanging of wedding rings. Of course, we still included the personal touches too… that’s what makes it a celebrant ceremony after all!

Mahsa looked just beautiful in her dress, and her bridesmiads all wore lilac. They were each escorted down the aisle in the historic manor hall by an usher, to greet the nervous groom. Three ceremonies in, you’d think he’d have been ised to this by now, but certainly third time’s a charm and this was the final, and most meaningful, moment to say ‘I do!’

Syon Park Wedding Celebrant Samantha Kelsie

It was a joy to be part of this lovely couple’s wedding day, and to enjoy spending a few hours in such a beautiful setting too. I can not thank the team at Syon House for being so very welcoming and accomodating on the day, and am so grateful for the gorgeous feedback received from them afterwards too:

“Dear Samantha,

We really enjoyed working with you at Syon Park last weekend. [Our event coordinators] found your sensitive and thoughtful approach very helpful – and your ceremony was lovely.

Head of Functions and Events – Syon Park”

Jenny & Ben – Dairy Barns

Jenny married Ben in a beautiful Dairy Barn in North Norfolk, on Easter weekend 26th March 2016.

Oh So Perfect’s Samantha not only had the privilege of attending  and assisting this wedding, she also had the absolute honour of performing a very special role on the day – being a bridesmaid!

Despite being part of the main wedding party, Samantha’s ‘wedding coordinator hat’ couldn’t be completely left at home this weekend, and her pink clipboard perfectly complimented the pretty pale dress as she coordinated the day between sips of pink champagne.

On Good Friday, Samantha set to work primping and preening the beautifully selected wild flowers into rustic jars to form the centrepieces, whilst Oh So Perfect’s Daniel and the boys set to work in the barn draping home made bunting and hanging the ‘Bird Twitchers’table plan amongst the wooden eaves.

On the wedding day itself, Samantha had the pleasure of announcing the new Mr & Mrs into the wedding breakfast, before tucking in to bangers and mash, followed by apple crumble and custard – yum! There were also scrumptious dairy ice creams and sweet pancakes to be devoured!

OSP’s Daniel played a part in keeping the ceremony running smoothly and looking after the PA system too whilst Samantha flaffed with the wedding dress!

There was a real ‘all hands on deck’ feel to this wedding, with the wedding cake being baked by the bride’s friend, and one of the most professional homemade photo booths ever seen hidden upstairs!

Jen & Ben really did provide their guests with a most gorgeous day to be enjoyed by all… And it was a pleasure to be a part of it! X

Oh so, I do! Wedding Celebrant

Oh So Perfect’s Samantha is proud to be recognised as a fully certified, professional marriage and family celebrant, and so as well as offering wedding and event planning services, Oh So Perfect are now also able to offer bespoke, personalised ceremonies for couples wishing to celebrate their marriage with an alternative wedding ceremony.

IMG_4053Traditional wedding ceremonies such as a church ceremony, or marriage by a registrar, are often quite limited in their conduct, as they are restricted by legalities and formalities in order for the marriage to be recognised under UK Law.

A wedding ceremony conducted by a celebrant, however, allows you as a couple to make your ceremony as personal as you wish, and can be conducted anywhere, anyway, anyhow!

Celebrants allow you the freedom to hold your wedding ceremony at any location you wish, whether indoors or outdoors, in a licensed wedding venue, or somewhere different altogether. From the beach, to a stately home, in a castle, or up a tree house… you could even celebrate in the comfort of your own garden – there are no limitations!

With a celebrant you also have the freedom to tailor your ceremony to suit your relationship, by writing your own vows, including personal poems and readings, or celebrating with the music that bonds you as a couple. You could even include a symbolic ceremony such as a hand fasting, unity candles, or a sand ceremony… the options are endless!

HenriettaCraig400px

Samantha will work closely with you to identify your love story and the things that make you unique as a couple, helping you to design and write the ceremony as you see fit, so that you can celebrate your marriage in your own personal way. On the day of the wedding, Samantha will act as your officiant to conduct the ceremony in front of your loved ones, and send you forward into life as a married couple.

Celebrant services include:

  • Meeting with you approximately 2-3 months before the wedding, to discuss your ceremony in full and help you to plan the proceedings.
  • Assistance with writing vows, choosing poems or readings, and piecing together the general order of service.
  • Unlimited contact and guidance throughout the ceremony writing process.
  • Professionally written and personalised ceremony script.
  • Option to include a symbolic ceremony in your service, such as hand fasting, unity candles, sand ceremony, or anything personal and symbolic to you.
  • Rehearsal with you and your wedding party before the ceremony.*
  • Your bespoke wedding ceremony officiated by your Oh So Perfect celebrant.
  • Keepsake copy of your full ceremony script and a printed ‘Ceremony Certificate’ presented to you after the ceremony.

All of the above is included at £495*
*Additional travel expenses may be added.

Please note: A celebrant ceremony is not a legally binding ceremony, and so for your marriage to be recognised by law you must also complete the legal formalities at a registry office before or after the ceremony.

Rosie and Al ~ Elephants and Sperry Tents

Rosie and Al were married in St Mary’s Church, Wimbledon, on 1st August 2015.

They celebrated their marriage with friends and family in a beautiful collection of rustic tents set amongst the roses of the Italian Garden in Cannizaro Gardens, Wimbledon Park.

The tents were decorated with ivy, roses, sweetpeas, hessian, and ceramic elephants, a nod to the water colour elephants illustrated on the stationery. The centrepiece of the drinks reception came in the shape of a rustic three tier naked cake, peppered with fresh berries and fragrant petals.

Guests sipped rose champagne and listened to jazz on the lawn, before embarking upon a glamorous dinner of posh sausages and mash, accompanied by thoughtfully selected favours of tomato ketchup in personalised bottles.

The couple honoured their family’s favourite football teams – Arsenal and Tottenham – in the table names, and gifted guests with shot glasses for a good humoured spot of rivalry!

Oh So Perfect we’re honoured to assist with the on the day coordination of this wedding, and supported the family with additional planning advice during the earlier planning stages.

Jennifer and Andrew ~ French Lavender in the Barn

Jennifer married Andrew in a beautiful ceremony at the Almonry Barn, Langport, Somerset on Friday 4th September 2015.

Guests, who had travelled all the way from Dublin and Australia, were spoiled throughout with a French-inspired, rustic afternoon in the barn, which the bride had styled and created with the help of Oh So Perfect and some wonderful suppliers along the way….

Sprigs of lavender accented glasses of champagne and cloudy lemon at the drinks reception, along with milk bottles filled with chocolate milk and purple straws, all served from vintage glass dispensers. The dining tables were loaded with rustic boards of antipasti as the guests took their seats, and a most glorious menu of beef, salmon and chicken satisfied guests’ appetites, complimented by a soundtrack of live Spanish Guitar and a French-cafe-style playlist.

The lawns were spread with vintage furniture sets and bird baths. Tall flowers stood proudly along the back wall of the ceremony, and throughout the dining tables. Sprigs of lavender tied with ribbon adorned the stationery on tables and the scent of rosemary filled the room from the bouquets.

The central focus of the room came in the form of an antique white dresser and vintage door backdrop, which groaned seductively with pretty china, delicious cakes, chocolate tarts, macarons and sweet kisses to make guests mouth water! Wicker hearts hung in trees in the orchard, birdcages filled with candles dotted each corner, and the bride had framed love quotes and French fancies placed prominently in every nook and cranny the barn had to offer.

The table plan was written by Oh So Perfect’s Samantha, on an antique mirror to match the style set out by the stationery, and guests left love notes and warm wishes on an old typewriter placed by a vintage writing desk.

The bride’s smile shone throughout the day, despite a slip the evening before the wedding rendering her foot bandaged and broken…. She was carried down the aisle by the groomsmen and her father, to the sound of the groom and best man softly singing to their classical guitars!

A most beautiful day, and much thanks to all the suppliers involved in creating something so very perfect. Oh So Perfect were delighted and honoured to assist Jennifer and Andrew with the partial planning, styling, personal support, and on the day coordination of a wedding so very divine… x
