Anna & Jeremy ~ Suitcases and Canoes

Anna and Jeremy were married at St Cynog’s church, Boughrood on Saturday 15th August 2015, followed by a reception and wedding breakfast at Felin Newydd House, Llandefalle.

The theme of the wedding was elegant, rustic, with a hint of travel – a nod towards the many countries Anna and Jeremy have visited around the world together, both with work and leisure, and a tribute to their expat life in Grand Cayman.

Anna, Jeremy and Oh So Perfect’s wedding planner Samantha worked very closely together for several months to create and perfect the style of the day, pulling together ideas and designing feature displays which included vintage suitcases, rustic crates, flowers, candles and an old map of the world hosting the table plan.

Together we designed an outdoor breakout area, which centred around a rustic canoe and old whiskey barrels. During the day, the canoe was filled with beers from around the world for guests to enjoy at their leisure, and in the evening we converted this display into a feature whiskey, port and cigar bar.

Guests were given little bottles of cocktails at their tables, individually designed to match the country the table was named after, and handmade wooden napkin rings whittled and produced by the father of the groom were offered out as keepsakes. The wedding cake was lovingly made by a cousin of the bride.

There was a relaxed vibe to the whole day, with dinner and music, and a special treat performance of a brass quintet with the groom himself playing the tuba. The next day, guests rekindled on the grass outside Felin Newydd House for a hangover-hog roast, enjoyed by many!

Oh So Perfect were delighted to have assisted in the overall planning, styling and design, and weekend coordination of this beautiful wedding, working from people afar with our international couple based in Cayman for 9 months leading up to the big day….
Congratulations Anna and Jeremy! X

Charlotte & Nick ~ Elegant florals in the barn

Charlotte & Nick were married on Saturday 5th July 2014 in a church ceremony followed by an utterly divine wedding reception in Buckinghamshire.

The wedding breakfast barn on a listed farm property, was in every way filled to the rafters with fresh flowers; an abundance of different types of rose and peonies at various stages of blossom adorned tables littered with glassware, teacups, and hurricane vases and tall candelabras. Cherry blossom grew up the listed barn walls, and a cherry blossom tree offered guests a clue to where to sit.

Oh So Perfect were delighted to work with this beautiful family for a second time, and provided on the day coordination for the happy couple.

Henrietta & Craig – DIY Spring Barn Wedding

Henrietta married Craig in a sweet ceremony in Gloucestershire, on Friday 17th April 2015.

Following the ceremony, the bride and groom, and their guests, arrived at Prior’s Court Barn in Brockworth, to continue celebrations on into the afternoon and evening.

Henrietta and Craig took their theme to the extreme, creating a DIY wedding like no other. Not only did the bride and groom along with their team of hands-on-helpers, ushers and bridesmaids, decorate the barn from top to bottom with home made, hand made decorations, including everything from paper mâché hot air balloons, to hessian table runners; this incredibly talented bride even baked her own wedding cake, full dessert table of scones, tarts and brownies, and provided all the canapés on the day, whilst the groom provided guests with home made bottles of red wine ready on the tables for dinner.

For dinner, guests were provided with chef hats and aprons, and one designsted person per table was given fun instructions to carve and serve the delicious roast lamb to those sat around them.

Their guests didn’t exactly escape the DIY theme either, not only was the wedding breakfast a hands on celebration of food, fun and laughter, they were also invited to bring an array of sweet and savoury home baked delights to be judged in the wedding’s very own bake off competition that evening, and later on all the home cooked offerings were used for the evening buffet. The attendees were also invited to send back their best-kept-secret family recipes with their RSVPs which the happy couple had made into personalised cookbooks for the winners on the night.

Oh So Perfect were delighted and honoured to provide on the day coordination for this very hands-on, elegant affair. Congratulations Henrietta and Craig!

Kate and Richard ~ Dinner Party in the Forest

Oh So Perfect – Wedding and Event Portfolio

On Saturday 15th September 2012 Kate Lamont married Richard Turney in an exqusite Edwardian-inspired ‘dinner party in the forest’ themed wedding held in a marquee in a field near Aberporth, West Wales, overlooking the glorious Cardigan Bay.Oh So Perfect were delighted to be involved in the overall set up and on the day coordination of Kate and Richard’s special day…

The bride and her father travelled to the church in Kate’s uncle’s Rolls Royce. After the ceremony, Kate and Richard headed back to the venue in her step-father’s very own vintage Jaguar E-type.

A little spot of rain in the afternoon did nothing to dampen the happy couple’s spirits – it meant the guests could use their personalised wedding umbrellas!

Inside the marquee our couple’s vision of indoors meets outdoors came to life spectacularly! We brought in real trees, oil paintings, cut glass and vintage wine decanters galore to create a feeling of an Edwardian dinner party in the forest…

The favours were little bottles of olive oils produced from the mother of the bride’s home in Italy. The menu consisted entirely of locally sourced Welsh produce, all of which was mapped out inside the menu cards for guests to see.

The tables were named after some of Kate and Richard’s favourite pubs across the UK, all of which held treasured memories for them.

The cake was decorated with royal icing and hand-made sugarcraft hydrangeas – they look so real!

As day turned to night, the marquee lit up spectacularly, adding more magic to this forest fantasy…

Then, as night fell, guests could indulge in the candle-lit whisky tipi which was stocked full of Penderyn whisky and a warm Welsh welcome… the guests partied ’til dawn!

Even the bride’s favourite teddy bear stayed up all night!
