Muncelle & Jonathan – English Country Cottage

Dunn---001

Muncelle and Jonathan were married on Saturday 25th June in Calverton, Stony Stratford.

The wedding ceremony took place in the village church, just a few minutes walk from the bride and groom’s home where they hosted their afternoon reception in a large PapaKåta! sperry tent set out on the lawn.

The transition between tent and garden was seemsless, as guests enjoyed a gorgeous view out over the valley, and their country garden flower beds and roses bushes slipped gently in at the marquee’s edge.

Flowers adorened the dinner tables, bloomed out over oak barrels and hung from lanterns in the trees courtesy of Electric Daisy Flower Farm, who also supplied the gorgeous blush bouquets.

Dinner was a grand buffet of American vs English cuisine – celebrating Muncelle’s Southern American routes and Jonathan’s English grounding. Guests dined on an assortment of delicious canapes before tucking in to fresh sea food, salads and roasted meats. The food was made fresh in the cottage’s kitchen by local chefs Roger and John at The Fox and Hounds Whittlebury.

For dessert, a delicious three tiered cake by Sweetness & Delight Wedding Cakes caught everyone’s eye as the centrepiece on the dance floor!

Music flowed in abundance starting with the breathtaking sounds of the Polymnia Choir in church, followed by Ariella String Quartet, Trio & Duoplaying a well selected assortment of classic and popular music during the drinks reception. In the evening, guests danced the night away to live jazz band Down for the Count.

Guests travelled from Florida US and Yorkshire England to join the happy couple in a day which was simply divine.

Oh So Perfect worked with Jonathan and Muncelle for a total period of 9 months to fully plan, design and coordinate the full running of this gorgeous wedding, and it truly was a pleasure.

A huge thank you to Sarah Gawler Photography for providing us with these gorgeous photographs which so perfectly capture the details of the day.

Anna & Jeremy ~ Suitcases and Canoes

Anna and Jeremy were married at St Cynog’s church, Boughrood on Saturday 15th August 2015, followed by a reception and wedding breakfast at Felin Newydd House, Llandefalle.

The theme of the wedding was elegant, rustic, with a hint of travel – a nod towards the many countries Anna and Jeremy have visited around the world together, both with work and leisure, and a tribute to their expat life in Grand Cayman.

Anna, Jeremy and Oh So Perfect’s wedding planner Samantha worked very closely together for several months to create and perfect the style of the day, pulling together ideas and designing feature displays which included vintage suitcases, rustic crates, flowers, candles and an old map of the world hosting the table plan.

Together we designed an outdoor breakout area, which centred around a rustic canoe and old whiskey barrels. During the day, the canoe was filled with beers from around the world for guests to enjoy at their leisure, and in the evening we converted this display into a feature whiskey, port and cigar bar.

Guests were given little bottles of cocktails at their tables, individually designed to match the country the table was named after, and handmade wooden napkin rings whittled and produced by the father of the groom were offered out as keepsakes. The wedding cake was lovingly made by a cousin of the bride.

There was a relaxed vibe to the whole day, with dinner and music, and a special treat performance of a brass quintet with the groom himself playing the tuba. The next day, guests rekindled on the grass outside Felin Newydd House for a hangover-hog roast, enjoyed by many!

Oh So Perfect were delighted to have assisted in the overall planning, styling and design, and weekend coordination of this beautiful wedding, working from people afar with our international couple based in Cayman for 9 months leading up to the big day….
Congratulations Anna and Jeremy! X

Katie and Owen ~ Champagne and White

Katie and Owen were married in a church service near their home town of Blackwood in Gwent on 25th July 2915. The couple entertained and welcomed guests in a large marquee reception on the ground of the groom’s family home following the ceremony.

Guests were treated to a champagne reception with string quartet, followed by a three course meal, band, marryoke and an utterly divine dessert table!

Oh So Perfect’s wedding planner Samantha was delighted to coordinate this beautiful day, with the help of her assistant Penny.

Laura and Rob – Picnics and Wedding Cakes

Oh So Perfect – Wedding and Event Portfolio

Picnic hamper and wedding cake-off wedding - Oh So Perfect www.ohsoperfect.co.ukLaura and Rob were married on Saturday 2nd August 2014 at Plas Glansevin in the Brecon Beacons.

The happy couple catered to an informal afternoon party for their closest friends and family at a large manor house in the country, with a scrumptious picnic lunch laid out in a small tent following an outdoor ceremony under an oak tree.

Everyone chipped in to make this wedding so perfect….

The centrepieces on the tables which were sourced using flowers from the bride’s mother’s garden and lots of collected pots and jars donated to the couple.  Laura’s mother and aunts spent the morning chopping and trimming homegrown hydrangeas and roses for Oh So Perfect’s Samantha to put out on the tables ready for the wedding breakfast.

Laura and Rob worked with Charlotte Roskill Catering Limited to design and serve hampers of hot meat, salads and potatoes to their guests in the style of a posh picnic, with one lucky person on each table elected as ‘masterchef’ to serve the meal to those around them – wearing a chef hat and kitchen whites to do so too!

After the dinner, Laura and Rob judged the ‘Great Wedding Bake Off’ together, making short work of sampling each of the cakes that had been lovingly baked and decorated by their own guests at their invitation, before dishing out prizes for the top bakers and allowing everyone else too grab forks, spoons and plates to dig in!

The evening was rounded off with a Ceilidh band for entertainment and guests stayed over in the accommodation on site ready to be served breakfast together again the morning after – a perfect wedding weekend for a perfect couple!

Oh So Perfect were delighted to assist in the on the day coordination of this wedding, and also provided several hours of ‘as and when’ planning support and creative design to bride Laura in the months leading up to the big day.

Rhiannon and James ~ Testimonial

Rhiannon & James Wedding - Oh So Perfect (81)Following their wedding earlier this summer, Oh So Perfect were so delighted to receive a full testimonial from Rhiannon and James following their wedding in July. Here’s the final paragraph of what they had to say, summing up our involvement in their wedding day…

“Samantha was incredibly efficient, organised to the minute, not to mention friendly and approachable. All of my requests were met, and as Id included a lot of personal details, there were numerous. I cannot thank Samantha enough for her reassurance, hard work and flexibility. I would highly recommend Samantha and her services. When we were planning, I was determined that I didnt need an event manager to over see things on the day, but she was completely invaluable. The day certainly would not have been as enjoyable, or as seamless as it was without her services. I was completely relaxed knowing that she had everything running perfectly. She really did help to make our day the best day for us.”

Thank you Rhiannon and James for your kind words, it was a real pleasure to be part of your special day!

Rhiannon and James ~ Hessian and Lace

Oh So Perfect – Wedding and Event Portfolio

Rhiannon & James Wedding - Oh So Perfect (51)
Rhiannon Phillips married James Hughes in a beautiful church ceremony in Mid Wales on Saturday 12th July 2014.

The ceremony was followed by a sweet and simple celebration at Treberfydd House near Brecon, in a marquee filled with wild flowers, vintage tea pots and watering cans placed on tables named after types of tea, and decorated with towers of cupcakes.

The marquee was lined in an abundance of hessian, lace and floral fabrics, and the entrance was adorned with flowers in wellington boots, in tribute to the bride’s farming family history. Guests dined on a sumptious hog roast carvery, followed by a mountain of desserts to suit every taste.

Oh So Perfect were thrilled to assist in the pre-event set up and on the day coordination of this pretty little Welsh countryside wedding.

It was a wonderul day, and we were delighted to be involved in the planning and delivery of this wedding from day one – how time does fly, we can’t believe this was already a year ago!

2014 Wedding Season… ready, steady, oh so go!

We’re oh so excited up at Perfect HQ this afternoon as the sun is shining in through the office window and there’s only two days to go before our first wedding of the 2014 season kicks off – hooray!

www.ohsoperfect.co.uk

We’ve been a little slower starting our season this year compared to last; last Spring saw us with two weddings in April and now gearing up towards our third, but this year we’re starting a little later with our first date in May. That said though, we also squeezed in three glorious winter weddings at the end of 2013 so it doesn’t feel quite as a long a gap between the seasons as the year before last!

Don’t be fooled though lovelies, starting our first wedding of 2014 a little later certainly doesn’t mean that we haven’t had a busy few months at Oh So Perfect this year already. We’ve been at our desks since January working hard on the year ahead, not only changing things within the business and updating our website (we relocated to Buckinghamshire a few months ago, did you hear?) but also writing editorial for Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon magazine, making contact with new suppliers, and of course not to mention the thing we do best – wedding planning!

www.ohsoperfect.co.uk

We’ve been busy working hard with international couples this year, assisting with the full planning of one very big wedding due to take place in July, and a huge family gathering (Oh So Perfect don’t just work on weddings either!) taking place at the end of this month too. We also helped a lovely Welsh couple to source a marquee with our Oh So Helpful as and when wedding planning service and held a few meetings with brides here and there to help them along their wedding planning way. Plus, next month our very own wedding planner Samantha is hanging up her clipboard for a day as she takes on the role of Maid of Honour for her best friend, so we’ve dipped our toes into the glamorous world of organising  hen parties too in recent weeks!

So, with the first big wedding of the year only 2 days away – and oh yes it’s certainly a big one (did someone say 400 guests in a marquee on the Gower peninsula….?)  – we’re busy, busy finalising schedules and plans, updating emails, and preparing our clipboard for the coming event. My fabulous South Wales assistant Anthony is gearing up his clipboard too to assist with organising and overseeing all the events at the marquee on Saturday morning as the suppliers arrive and set up, whilst Samantha will be working closely with the bride at her home helping her and her attendants get ready and arrive at the church on time. This bride has cleverly made the most of our newest package the Oh So Lovely – Bride’s Best Friend to ensure maximum support throughout the morning, afternoon and evening too.

04

Later this afternoon I’ll be taking out the Oh So Oh No! emergency pink kit box and ensuring that it’s once again full to the brim with everything a good wedding planner could possibly need to help with any hiccups on the day… not that there will be any hiccups, this is an Oh So Perfect wedding after all! We’ve already loaded the car with our big white bridal brollies just in case, though with the current weather forecast showing blue sky and sunshine here’s hoping we won’t need them, but better to be prepared!

The 2014 season is about to kick off, and we have weddings taking place through May, June, July and August already on our books, but it’s not too late to add yours to the mix too so if you’d like any help with some Oh So Supportive – On The Day Coordination for your wedding day in England or Wales this year, make sure you get in touch quick to make the most of the wonderful packages and services we have to offer!

Until next time, lovelies….. xx

Annie & Humphrey – Testimonial

Oh So Honest – Client Testimonial

www.ohsoperfect.co.uk

We were delighted to receive such a beautifully written thank you email from our Oxfordshire ‘English Country Garden’ couple, Annie and Humphrey, following their recent honeymoon, so much so we’d like to share it with you too…

“Hello Samantha,

We are back from honeymoon and would just like to say thank you so, so much for all your incredible hard work towards our wedding. It was such a wonderful, jewel of a day that ran like clockwork and we really couldn’t have done it without you. You were an absolute star! Everyone has said to us how brilliant you were at keeping things running smoothly. You worked so incredibly hard, in particular over the actual wedding day period, doing such long days. And babysitting my nephew the evening before the wedding was beyond the call of duty!

Thank you also for the sweet card you left for us in the car – a lovely touch!

Please stay in touch and we hope the rest of your summer’s weddings go as well as ours!

Lots of love,
Annie and Humphrey”
