Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Morris

We’d like to wish a very happy first anniversary to our beautiful ‘Better Together’ couple – Emma and Andy – who were married in a gorgeous ceremony in Laugharne on 4th August 2012, followed by a vintage garden party celebration at Broadway Country House, for which we had the pleasure of assisting with the design and coordination of this lovely, lovely little affair. We hope you two have a gorgeous day together drinking plenty of champagne!

Looking back to last year, I remember sound of the rain slamming into the sides of the marquee as we set up that morning – I must admit I was starting to worry! – but by the time the afternoon set in and the guests began to arrive, the rain cleared up and the sun shone so brightly, there was nothing to worry about in the slightest, and a beautiful day was enjoyed by all!

We had meters and meters of bespoke bunting custom made for Emma and Andy which not only went all around and across the marquee, but also adorned the conservatory, walk ways and a little romantic outdoor pagoda, with a few spare strands to decorate the bridal suite too. Emma and Andy were also the first Oh So Perfect couple to request our hand made paper pompoms, which have since become a popular feature at OSP events having been requested by our couples time and time again after seeing these lovely purple ones!

Here’s a little look back at some photos of the set up of this pretty purple reception; stringing up all the bunting and pompoms with the help of my two assistants Christina and Mark…

And of course, my favourite part of the day – showing my couple what their venue looks like before the guests get to see! www.ohsoperfect.co.uk

‘English Wedding Blog’ gives us a mention!

We were absolutely delighted (though a little delayed!) to discover that we had a mention on the English Wedding Blog back in September as one of their featured blogs in their “Best Wedding Blogs: the ones I’m reading” feature.

They loved our beautiful vintage wedding in Laugharne this summer and were inspired by the rich colour scheme chosen by our gorgeous couple Emma and Andy. Click this link to look back at this very pretty wedding in all its glory.

They also included one of our photos – featuring yours truly in amongst my hand-made pompoms.

English Wedding blog was ranked No.8 in UKwed.com’s top 100 Best Wedding Blogs so we’re pretty chuffed to be noticed by them too!

Thank you to Mark Hawkins for taking this fab photo too!

Emma and Andrew ~ Better Together

Oh So Perfect – Wedding and Event Portfolio

On Saturday 4th August 2012 Emma Borland married Andrew Morris in a bunting-filled wedding held at Broadway Country House in Laugharne, South Wales.Oh So Perfect were delighted to be involved in the overall design, set up and on the day coordination of Emma and Andy’s big day…

Oh So Perfect’s wedding coordinator Samantha and her assistant Christina set up the bunting which had been specially designed and created by Emma Bunting for this wedding, based on our wedding styling designs. Here we are setting up the bunting, pompoms and all the little pieces that went together to compliment the wedding theme…

We love being able to show our couples around the marquee before the guests enter for the wedding breakfast. Emma and Andy were over the moon with the overall look they had dreamed of – there were audible gasps of ‘wow’ as they entered for the big reveal!

And the finishing touches…

We used the name of Emma and Andrew’s first dance for the bunting on the top table…

The favours table consisted of jars of jams and chutneys for guests to take home, which had been made by the mother of the groom.

Oh So Perfect and Samantha would like to extend a huge thank you to our set up  assistants Christina and Mark, who did a fantastic job helping make Emma and Andrew’s dream wedding come to life. Also, thank you to Mark for taking such wonderful photos for our blog and portfolio. All photos credited to Mark Hawkins Photography.

It All Comes Together in the End

Here’s a little sneak peak photo of some of our wedding styling from Emma and Andy’s ‘Better Together’ wedding in Laugharne last Saturday (full photos soon to follow!).

This display was thrown together by our wedding planner Samantha late in afternoon at Emma and Andy’s wedding. It wasn’t planned, but as the guests retreated to the bar for coffee and cake after the wedding breakfast, and the staff at the venue began transforming the marquee for the evening reception, Samantha decided that rather than packing up all the odds and ends left over from the various displays around the room which were now being removed (e.g. the cake, favours table and top table), she quickly arranged this pretty little vintage cluttered display at the entrance of the marquee, for guests to oooh and ahh over as they re-entered the room.

Needless to say the bride and groom adored this impromptu little feature display and were delighted to see that the items they had spent so long preparing would be used throughout the evening as well…

‘Purple, Elegant, Vintage’ Wedding Design Portfolio

Diary of a Wedding Planner

This evening finds me creating the first draft of a design portfolio ready for a meeting with one of my lovely couples this coming weekend.

My couple’s colour scheme is predominantly deep purple, and we’re focusing on the key words ‘vintage’ ‘classical’ ‘elegant’ and ‘country garden’ .

I’ve had lots of fun pinning images and ideas onto their Pinterest board and have now developed these images and the feedback from my couple into creating a portfolio to help us start pulling together the elements they like and love, to help us work together to refine their own wedding design ideas so that I can get started turning them into a reality.

Every wedding theme is a joy to work on because every wedding is so different, and the more creative the brief the more fun it can be realising the couple’s dream theme!

I have particularly enjoyed working on this particular wedding design this evening. I’ll save the full portfolio for my couple of course, but here are a few sneak peeks at some of the ideas we currently have floating around for this very pretty Carmarthenshire wedding…

L is for…

Lavender

Lanterns

and Lace

With love
